The Bihar Agriculture Department initiates the second post-pandemic Agricultural Mechanization Fair in Patna from today till 11th Feb. Subsidies on 110 machines focus on technology, and a Kisan Pathshala highlights the event.
In a bid to enhance agricultural productivity and connect farmers with cutting-edge technology, the Bihar Agriculture Department is gearing up for its second post-pandemic Agricultural Mechanization Fair. Scheduled for February 8th to 11th at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, the fair aims to encourage broader adoption of agricultural equipment amongst the state's farmers.
Subsidy for 110 Agricultural Machines
Under the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme, subsidies will be extended to approximately 110 types of machines showcased at the fair. From manual implements like hoes to tractors, a significant emphasis will be placed on subsidizing agricultural equipment. The fair promises a subsidy range of 40 to 80 percent on various machines, encouraging farmers to adopt advanced mechanization. Farmers who have already received approval letters for equipment purchases will be able to avail their subsidies during the fair, streamlining the process and minimizing delays.
Focus on Crop Residue and the Latest Agricultural Technology
In this edition of Agro Bihar, particular attention is directed towards crop residue management, post-harvest techniques, and the incorporation of the latest technology in the agricultural sector. This strategic approach aligns with the evolving needs of the agricultural landscape, promoting sustainability and efficiency. Notably, this Agricultural Mechanization Fair marks the second edition post the COVID-19 pandemic.
Expanded Venue with 150 Stalls for Agricultural Innovation
Compared to the previous year's 125 stalls, the current fair boasts 150 stalls dedicated to showcasing innovative agricultural equipment. Participants include not only farmers from Bihar but also representatives from other states and machine manufacturing companies. Additionally, Bihar's Agricultural University will set up informative stalls, addressing climate change's impact on agriculture.
Kisan Pathshala- Hub for Agricultural Knowledge
A significant highlight of the four-day event is the Kisan Pathshala or “Farmer School", which serves as a central hub for various programs. This educational initiative aims to impart crucial agricultural information to farmers through discussions on key issues. Key agricultural topics, including crop residue management, post-harvest techniques, and the impact of climate change, will be discussed by experts. Live demonstrations of farm mechanization equipment will provide practical insights.
Fair Schedule and Access
The Agricultural Mechanization Fair will run from 10 am to 7 pm, with free entry for all attendees. This inclusive approach ensures that farmers, agricultural enthusiasts, and stakeholders can actively participate in this transformative event.
