Shrikant Govindrao Bhise's journey is a remarkable tale of rediscovering one's roots and finding a deeper connection to the land. Originally from Dharashiv, he had a thriving urban career in Pune after completing his MBA. However, the fast-paced city life left him unfulfilled.
Driven by a strong desire for a more meaningful existence, Bhise decided to return to his ancestral village, Ekurga, in Maharashtra's Dharashiv district. This marked the beginning of his transformation into a successful farmer.
Commencing with his ancestral land, Bhise initially encountered hurdles and setbacks in the field of agriculture. Rather than succumbing to dismay, he wholeheartedly immersed himself in research, resolute to grasp the complexities of prosperous farming and marketing.
Initially, Bhise started his farming venture with conventional crops like sugarcane, Arhar, and soybean. However, a pivotal moment arrived when a friend's advice led him to transition towards high-value cash crops, reshaping the trajectory of his agricultural journey. Bhise embraced fruit farming, a decision bolstered by valuable insights from the Agriculture Department and agricultural experts.

With newfound knowledge on cultivation techniques, investment requirements, and optimal approaches, Bhise diversified his crops. His fields soon boasted a rich assortment of fruit trees, including watermelon, guava, bananas, musk melon, and papaya. Among these, his three-year-old Taiwanese guava orchard stands out, poised to deliver substantial returns on his investment of Rs 1.5-2.0 lakhs. This shift to cash crops and the careful cultivation of high-value fruit trees have not only expanded Bhise's agricultural horizons but increased prosperity in his farming.
