Women Farmers Take the Lead in Drone Training for Nano Urea Application
Officials from IFFCO reveal an ambitious strategic plan to procure 2500 drones, aiming to lead the adoption of nano fertilizers across the country. This substantial fleet will play a pivotal role in the first phase of a national campaign, benefiting 5000 farmers who will receive comprehensive training on drone utilization.
In a groundbreaking move to enhance farmers' income and revolutionize crop production, the government has launched an innovative initiative, empowering women farmers through the use of drone technology for precise application of nano urea in agricultural fields. The initiative takes shape at the newly established drone training center within the Cooperative Rural Development Trust (CORDET) at IFFCO in Phulpur.
The comprehensive training program not only imparts technical expertise on drone operation but also focuses on utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles for the efficient sprinkling of nano urea and D-ammonia phosphate (DAP) in fields. The ongoing efforts have already yielded success, with 150 women farmers benefiting from specialized technical education on harnessing drone technology for nano urea application.

This substantial fleet will play a pivotal role in the first phase of a national campaign, benefiting 5000 farmers who will receive comprehensive training on drone utilization. The newly acquired drones, tailored for DAP application, demonstrate versatility by meeting the standards of both industrial applications and agricultural requirements. With their capabilities, they ensure rapid and efficient urea application across extensive agricultural areas, significantly reducing both time and effort.
Principal Harish Chandra of CORDET emphasizes that the objective extends beyond mere production augmentation. The campaign is committed to curbing reliance on chemical fertilizers, encouraging farmers to explore alternative and sustainable agricultural practices. The training program, therefore, not only focuses on technological proficiency but also promotes eco-friendly and sustainable farming methods.
In a virtual address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently engaged with a woman farmer undergoing training at CORDET, highlighting the initiative's alignment with the Prime Minister's Bharat Sankalp Yatra. The government's commitment to empowering women in agriculture and promoting sustainable farming practices is evident in these pioneering efforts.
The success of this initiative marks a significant step towards achieving the goals of increased agricultural productivity, income generation for farmers, and environmental sustainability. As the campaign gains momentum, it is poised to make a lasting impact on the agricultural landscape of the country, ushering in a new era of precision farming and sustainable practices.
