He opened Agri Technology-2021, a three-day conference held at the Lam Farm Agriculture Research Center in Lam in Guntur. Commenting on the event, he said the AP was the second largest in the country in adopting the latest agricultural technology and stressed the need to monitor agricultural reforms in order to change crop patterns. He recalled that the government led by Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy established Rythu Bharosa Kendras to make it easier for farmers to make the necessary recommendations. He added that agricultural inputs, agricultural products, seeds, agricultural systems would be explained to farmers during the three-day program. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is trying to provide online marketing services to farmers, he said, describing the services provided by the government to farmers.
He recalled that the government provided farmers with input subsidies, providing them with free harvest insurance without providing them with seeds and fertilizer on a subsidy.
Horticulture Commissioner Sridhar has encouraged farmers to grow crops that will provide high yields with minimal investment.
ANGRAU vice-chancellor Janaki Ram and AP State Agriculture Mission chairperson MVS Nagi Reddy emphasized the need to implement new agricultural programs. Regional collector Vivek Yadav, Agricultural scientists Trimurthulu, Rambabu, Ratna Prasad, co-director of agriculture Dr Vijaya Bharati, were among those present.
