Update On ACC

According to a decision made by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday, Manoj Ahuja, the current Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education, would take over as Agriculture Secretary when invaluable Sanjay Agarwal retires at the end of March. For the time being, he has been assigned to the Agriculture Ministry as an Officer on Special Duty.

The ACC also approved Sanjay Malhotra, the chairman of the REC, as the next Secretary of the Department of Financial Services. Arti Ahuja, an additional secretary in the Ministry of Health, has been named the new Secretary of the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals.

Alkesh Kumar Sharma, the Cabinet Secretariat's Special Secretary, has been promoted to Secretary (Coordination) within the Secretariat. S. Kishore, Special Secretary of Commerce, has been named Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission, while P. Daniel, Additional Secretary of the Central Vigilance Commission, has been named Secretary to the Commission.
