UP Prepares for a Global Agriculture Showcase, Set to Organize Krishi Kumbh 2023
The upcoming Krishi Kumbh's second edition is set to host over 2 lakh farmers, 10 partner nations, and more than 500 companies. Union ministers, global experts, and agriculture-focused institutions are also expected to attend.
The second edition of the international agricultural conference, Krishi Kumbh, is set to take place in Uttar Pradesh this December. This event aims to be a global platform for sharing knowledge and innovations in the agriculture sector.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended invitations to participants from every district within the state and every state in the country, anticipating an impressive turnout.
Through the goal of enhancing farmers' prosperity through technology, Krishi Kumbh is positioned to provide insights into the latest advancements in agriculture, spanning the entire agricultural supply chain from seed to market.
Krishi Kumbh made its debut in Uttar Pradesh in 2018. In this second edition, CM Adityanath has taken an even more inclusive approach by extending invitations to representatives from every district within Uttar Pradesh and every state in the country. The primary event will be held at the Indian Sugarcane Research Institute in Lucknow, complemented by a preliminary event in Delhi.

During a recent review meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conveyed his anticipation of Krishi Kumbh attracting a sizable turnout. He foresees over 2 lakh farmers, along with representatives from 10 partner countries and over 500 national and international companies participating in this significant agricultural event. The government's invitations extend to Union ministers, experts from both national and international institutions and companies specializing in agriculture, as well as the inclusion of agricultural universities, scientific research centers, and forward-thinking farmers.
CM Adityanath placed a strong emphasis on embracing global best practices in agriculture during the review meeting. He drew inspiration from various nations, including Japan, Israel, Peru, Germany, Croatia, Poland, the United States, the Philippines, Indonesia, and South Korea, highlighting the importance of adopting their successful agricultural methods.
He proposed a collaborative approach with Indian embassies and high commissions in these countries to engage local companies, experts, and farmers in Krishi Kumbh, similar to the strategy employed for the Global Investors Summit. This international collaboration promises to bring a wealth of knowledge and innovation to the event.

The discussions at Krishi Kumbh are anticipated to span a wide range of topics, including strategies such as cow-based natural farming, climate change resilience, food grain promotion, enhancing business through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), cost-effective farming practices, efficient stubble management, and the role of the agriculture sector in contributing to Uttar Pradesh's aspiration of reaching a one trillion US dollar economy. This diverse agenda promises a unique exploration of crucial agricultural issues and their economic impact.
Furthermore, a state-level workshop in Lucknow during October will focus on highlighting the importance of millets in the agriculture sector, enhancing the diversity and resilience of the state's agricultural practices. Krishi Kumbh 2023 promises to be a significant event, showcasing innovative farming techniques and collaboration on a global scale.
