UP CM Announces to Establish Agricultural University in Kushinagar
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced plans to establish an agricultural university in Kushinagar, with allocated funding for the initiative, enhancing agricultural education and development in the region.
In a significant development, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced plans for the establishment of an agricultural university in Kushinagar.
This announcement came during the inauguration of several projects at the Mahayogi Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Gorakhpur, where he reaffirmed the government's commitment to nurturing agriculture as a promising source of employment. Adityanath's vision centers on reinvigorating farmers' interest in agriculture, especially those who had previously migrated.
Furthermore, he highlighted the "double-engine government's" mission to provide comprehensive agricultural resources and knowledge at a single accessible hub, primarily facilitated through Agricultural Science Centers (Krish Vigyan Kendras).
Adityanath lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's early activities, dating back to 2014, to prioritize farmers' well-being. Notably, this included the issuance of free soil health cards to farmers across the nation. He further elaborated on the array of schemes his government has initiated for the betterment of farmers. This includes the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which disburses Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three installments, and the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Bima Yojana, which offers subsidized crop insurance to farmers.

Notably, the Chief Minister inaugurated a one-day Kisan Mela and agricultural exhibition, reinforcing the state's unwavering support for the agricultural community. During the event, certificates and essential kits were distributed to beneficiaries of various government schemes, underscoring the commitment to uplift those dependent on agriculture.
Highlighting the government's proactive stance on promoting natural farming, Adityanath detailed efforts to reduce farmers' reliance on chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides. This transition not only has economic advantages by saving farmers money but also safeguards their health by reducing exposure to harmful substances.
