Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari recently addressed people in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district on Thursday.

He told that farmers are the backbone of the economy. Besides fulfilling food demand they are the energy providers. Further, he told that due to them today there has been immense improvement in the economy.

He also added that there has been enough money for financial support but a shortage of those leaders who can able to work with honesty.

After inaugurating the two-day All India cattle exhibition and agriculture fair in Muzaffarnagar, he said that earlier many suicide attempts could be heard by farmers in his area, but now with the passage of time, the circumstances have changed.

Indicating the farmers from western  Uttar Pradesh he addressed that the nation was in huge conflict due to the very low price of sugar. Therefore farmers were required to be encouraged for producing ethanol rather than sugar. Gadkari added that the reason farmers are the energy provider is due to the immense production of ethanol, compressed natural gas (CNG), and hydrogen that will be used for vehicle ignition. Infact this will improve farmers' standard of living and increase profits.

The Union Minister said that India will be one of the biggest exporters of energy. If farmers are unhappy and unable to suffice then it will be a great loss for the nation. He stressed the fact that farming needs more modification. Using nano urea and drones one can improve the quality of their farms.

Union Minister of State Parshottam K Rupala said the main target is to make cattle center stage in the nation. Infact the economy will be dependent upon cows.”Over 50,000 cattle keepers are expected to attend the fair on Friday for the conclusion.
