Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister, inaugurated the 5-day cultural program "AgriUnifest," which was organized by Bangalore Agricultural University in collaboration with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

The All India Inter Agricultural University Youth Festival was developed and launched by ICAR in 1999–2000 to integrate Indian agriculture by bridging different Indian cultures, nurture the talents of the young people attending agricultural universities, and help them appreciate the diversity of Indian culture.

More than 2500 exceptional students representing 60 State Agricultural Universities, Deemed Universities, and Central Universities took part, showing their talents in 18 competitions structured around five disciplines (Music, Dance, Literature, Theatre, and Fine Arts).

The program's chief guest, Shri Tomar, stated that it is imperative that we utilize each and every minute to the fullest. Studying is just one aspect of what students do, but when a person grows overall, he or she can make a greater contribution to the growth of their family, society, institution, state, and nation.

The soul of Indian culture, according to Mr. Tomar, is the same from Attock to Cuttack and from Kashmir to Kanyakumari despite the country's many varied languages, customs, and traditions. He claimed that by holding events like "AgriUnifest" in diverse locations, hidden talents in a variety of sectors are revealed, and the country's cultural unity is then displayed.

Mr. Tomar asserted that technology is crucial in the times we currently inhabit. It is also essential to use technology in agriculture nowadays. Transparency must be brought to all sectors via technology, and tasks that took years to complete can now be completed in a matter of days.

Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Karnataka Agriculture Minister Shri B.C. Patil, ICAR Deputy Director General (Education) Dr. R.C. Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor Dr. Suresha, and other officers, scientists, and students were present at the event.
