Tripura government has recently introduced two new programs aimed at uplifting rural economies and promoting animal farming. These initiatives, namely the Mukhyamantri Prani Palak Sanman Nidhi and Mukhyamantri Prani Sampad Bikash Yojna, were launched to support animal farmers and reduce their dependence on imported animal products.

Sudhangshu Das, the state's animal resource development minister, revealed that the Mukhyamantri Prani Palak Sanman Nidhi scheme will provide an annual financial aid of Rs 6,000 to eligible animal farmers, to curb the import of animal products. To qualify for this support, individuals engaged in animal husbandry must have an annual income below Rs 2 lakh and own at least one dairy cow, 10 goats, or an improved breed of pig.
