Israel has dispatched an agriculture specialist to Tripura in response to its envoy to India, Ron Malka, promising to assist in the introduction of new technologies in the state's agriculture sector. The farmlands were full of potential, according to an envoy who visited the state a year ago. The state's favorable agro-climatic conditions, deep fertile soils, and subtropical humid climate with abundant rainfall provide significant potential for the Horticulture sector's development.
Dr. Ron Malka's vow to establish an "Agriculture Centre of Excellence" is being carried out by the state. The purpose of the expert's visit to the state was to look into the possibility of using innovative technologies.
Yair Eshel, senior agriculture attaché at Israel's embassy in New Delhi, has returned home after a three-day visit. He is a garlic breeder as well as a cocoa specialist.
Mr. Eshel visited certain agriculture and horticultural facilities run by the Tripura government's Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He spent a significant amount of time at each center studying and advising accompanying authorities on agricultural concerns.
The officials answered his questions on irrigation and orchard management, fertilizer application, and upkeep.
Mr. Eshel stated he was happy with the farming approach but observed flaws in the usage of technology when asked about his findings following the examination of the agricultural fields. He stated that Israel will give technical assistance to the northeastern state in order to boost the quantity and quality of its exports.
The joint ventures between the Indian state of Tripura and Israel will definitely benefit the agricultural sector. The technological enhancement would give Indian agriculture the boost that it needs in order to reach its' potential.
