Thailand Sets the Stage for the Seventh International Conference on Vetiver

The Seventh International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7), commencing on May 29, 2023, with the esteemed patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, aims to showcase the latest advancements and practical applications of vetiver grass.

Present at this notable four-day event on 'Vetiver for Soil and Water Conservation' are Krishi Jagran's Founder, MC Dominic, and Managing Director, Shiny Dominic. Shiny Dominic, the Managing Director of Krishi Jagran, will be inaugurating the special edition magazine for May 2023, Agriculture World, alongside MC Dominic.

The opening ceremony of the conference will feature speeches by Mr. Jim Smyle, President of the Vetiver Network International (TVNI), and Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation.

Esteemed accolades such as the King of Thailand Vetiver Awards and the TVNI Best VDO Awards will be presented, recognizing exceptional contributions and outstanding visual presentations.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will deliver an inaugural speech, setting the tone for the conference. The virtual event will also include a tribute to King Bhumibol Adulyadej and a keynote address by Dr. Rattan Lal, the recipient of the 2020 World Food Prize.

Memorable moments will be captured through an exhibition tour and photo sessions. Throughout the day, participants of ICV-7 will have the opportunity to engage in insightful exhibitions that showcase the successful implementation outcomes of promoting and utilizing vetiver grass, in line with the initiatives of 32 agencies.

Furthermore, the event will highlight handicraft products made from vetiver, featuring specialized training sessions on crafting these unique creations.

The inaugural day will culminate with a warm and welcoming dinner hosted at the esteemed Shangri-La Hotel.
