State Govt Offers Subsidies for Power Tillers and Weeding Machines to Farmers- Apply Now

In a significant move towards promoting agricultural development, the Tamil Nadu government has allocated funds for the purchase of power tillers and weeding machines under the All-Village Integrated Agriculture Development Programme. The initiative aims to provide valuable support to eligible farmers, and the Trichy collector, M Pradeep Kumar, has urged them to take advantage of these beneficial schemes.

Under the new subsidy scheme, small, marginal, and women farmers will receive a subsidy of Rs 85,000 for purchasing power tillers. Moreover, a subsidy of 1.19 lakh will be provided to farmers from Scheduled Castes, and those who wish to acquire weeding machines will be eligible for a subsidy of Rs 63,000.

To avail themselves of these subsidies, eligible farmers are required to apply through the Uzhavan App and upload necessary documents. These documents include land patta, chitta adangal, Aadhar card, front page copy of savings account passbook, certificates confirming their status as small, marginal, or community farmers, and a passport size photograph.

Moreover, the state government has also announced its support for small and marginal farmers in replacing their old motors for borewells. Financial aid of Rs 15,000 will be provided to a total of 160 farmers for the replacement of low-power borewell motors. The government has allocated a sum of 24 lakh for this purpose. To be eligible for this scheme, farmers must cultivate land below five acres and possess pump sets. Interested farmers are advised to apply with the required documents to the aforementioned officials.
