SKUAST-K Concludes Its Workshop On Agricultural Nanotechnology
The Nanotechnology and Agriculture workshop, which was organized for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir, drew MSC and Ph.D. students from all over the nation.
The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir's Shalimar campus hosted a two-week high-end workshop on "Nanotechnology in AgriFood System Replete with Opportunities" that ended on Wednesday.
The workshop was sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) under the Karyashala Scheme and put together by FoH Shalimar of the SKUAST-K's Division of Plant Pathology.
The Nanotechnology and Agriculture workshop, which was organized for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir, drew MSC and Ph.D. students from all over the nation.
Previously in 2021, the Division of Plant Pathology, FoH, SKUAST-Kashmir, Shalimar, under IDP-NAHEP, performed the training programme on the relevant issue.
The Workshop featured eighteen expert talks presented by scientists from various universities and institutions in the valley as well as from beyond the valley.
Participants gained hands-on experience using advanced instruments, such as FESEM, XRD, coating workstations, and others, in NIT-CRF Srinagar's facility.
The chief guest at the valedictory occasion, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, emphasized the significance and function of nanotechnology in addition to new technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence in agriculture and related areas. The Faculty was persuaded by Prof. Ganai to create the necessary infrastructure for nanotechnology research.
Prof Shabir A Wani, Dean FoH, emphasized the significance of nanotechnology and praised the efforts of the Division of Plant Pathology. Dr. Shaheen K Jan, Prof & Head, Division of Plant Pathology, gave the welcome address.
Dr. Tariq A Sof, the program's coordinator, gave an overview of the workshop, and Dr. MD Shah gave a vote of thanks.
