Security Tightened as Khap Panchayat March Towards Jantar Mantar, Farmers Stopped at Tikri Border
Top Indian wrestlers, including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and Vinesh Phogat, have been protesting for the last two weeks, calling for the dismissal of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and his arrest on charges of alleged sexual harassment of female wrestlers.
Security has been increased at Jantar Mantar and Delhi's borders as Khap Panchayat leaders march to the protest site where Olympic wrestlers are striking against WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over allegations of sexual harassment. Two farmer groups are also visiting Jantar Mantar on Sunday and Monday to support the wrestlers' protests.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has called for nationwide protests in support of the wrestlers, with leaders from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and western Uttar Pradesh expected to attend with hundreds of farmers. The outfit has also demanded the immediate arrest of the WFI president.
Olympic medallist Bajrang Punia has called on the public to hold a candlelight march on Sunday to show solidarity with the wrestlers. Punia stated that two committees formed on Saturday have the full authority to determine their next steps.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a non-political group, has announced that a large number of farmers will gather at Jantar Mantar on May 8. To prepare for their visit, officials have implemented elaborate security measures and erected barricades. Police are also closely monitoring the city's borders.
SKM leaders are expected to lead a delegation to the Delhi Police Commissioner, Union sports minister, and Union home minister, demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan Singh. Additional security personnel will be deployed, particularly at the borders, and patrols will be increased.
