In a remarkable stride towards fostering inclusivity and innovation in India's agriculture sector, Salam Kisan, a data-driven end-to-end agriculture platform dedicated to enhancing productivity and profitability for farmers, has achieved a significant milestone.

They proudly announced the successful training of Maharashtra's first female drone pilot, Linta Shelke Waghmare, hailing from Wardha district. This milestone underscores the company's commitment to skill development and empowering women within the country's agricultural ecosystem.

Salam Kisan's decision to include Linta in their drone training program marks a significant step towards promoting gender neutrality in agricultural technology. Linta underwent rigorous training over five days at a DGCA-approved institute. Her achievement not only serves as a source of motivation for aspiring female drone pilots but also showcases the immense potential of women in shaping the future of agriculture.

Dhanashri Mandhani, the Founder & CEO of Salam Kisan, emphasized the importance of this initiative. She stated that a majority of women working in agriculture operate in the informal sector, and their contributions often go unrecognized in the country's GDP. They have consistently worked towards integrating women into the formal agricultural fold.

Linta from being a field officer in a predominantly male-dominated landscape, has risen to become Maharashtra's inaugural drone pilot. It's also heartening to witness the Indian government taking similar initiatives, with their upcoming scheme set to provide agri-drones to 15,000 women SHGs.

Reflecting on her experience in Salam Kisan's drone training program, Linta Shelke Waghmare said that, coming from a farming family, she has always had a deep-rooted interest in agriculture. As she joined Salam Kisan, Dhanashree Ma'am has encouraged her to acquire more skills.

Recently, Salam Kisan introduced the Capacity Building Program, an initiative offering drone pilot training and employment opportunities to rural youth. Beyond its core focus on skill development and job creation, this program prioritizes nurturing leadership qualities and resilience within each participant.
