An amount of Rs 2.36 cr has been paid for agricultural equipment this year by the government to private farmers, cooperatives, gram panchayats and regional Farmers Produce Associations, with various types of grass control equipment.
Hoshiarpur, December 17th : An amount of Rs 2.36 cr has been paid for agricultural equipment this year by the government to private farmers, cooperatives, gram panchayats and regional Farmers Produce Associations, with various types of grass control equipment.
Elaborating on this, Chief Agricultural Officer Dr Surinder Singh said a system was being developed in which farmers were provided with the latest weed disposal equipment. Independent farmers in the district have applied under this program in addition to the farmers' groups that established employment centers, co-operatives, Gram Panchayats and the Farmers Produce Association. They bought equipment after receiving a letter of authority from the department.
The equipment has been physically tested at block-level by officials from the Department of Agriculture. After physical examination, the payment of the subsidy to eligible applicants, has been resumed under the first phase, a grant of Rs. 14,7,55,700 151 machines for 151 independent farmers in the district were provided.
Rs 4,67,200 subsidy for 3 Gram Panchayats machines, Rs 1,68,000 for one Kisan Utpadak Sangathan machine and Rs 58,01,835 for 61 machines for 43 farmer groups were successfully paid.
