Rs. 1.45 Cr Bank Credit Loans Successfully Distributed to SHGs

In a significant boost for rural empowerment, 107 registered Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Arunachal Pradesh have collectively received a substantial credit of Rs 1.45 Crore, fostering economic growth and development.

In Seppa, Arunachal Pradesh, 107 Self-help groups (SHGs) received bank credit loans of more than Rs. 1.45 crore. These SHGs, operating under the guidance of the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) in Seppa, Chayangtajo, and Bameng, obtained loans during a significant event. The loans were granted by APEX Bank and SBI Seppa branch, aiming to boost livelihoods and opportunities.

The loan distribution took place at a mega credit camp organized by the district mission management unit of ArSRLM in Seppa, East Kameng district. Representatives from the SHGs received the disbursed loan amounts alongside block officials. This event was attended by senior officers and PRIs, highlighting its importance.

During the occasion, East Seppa ZPM Doyak Singhi emphasized the significance of banking access for women SHGs and women in rural areas. Such access would enhance financial activities and self-reliance among them.

ZPM assured the SHGs of support from panchayati raj institutions and encouraged collaboration between PRI leaders and SHG women for more holistic development at the village level.

Pem Chutrup Ngangmu, the branch manager of APEX Bank Seppa, commended the diligent efforts of ArSRLM officers in capacitating self-help groups. He highlighted the impressive 100 percent timely repayment rate of SHG credit linkages.

Uma Sankar, the field officer from SBI Seppa, stressed the importance of financial literacy within SHGs and urged timely loan repayment to the bank.

The event witnessed the participation of heads from various departments including KVK, DVO, NABARD DDM, TDO, BDO, DAO, DHO, HMO, ADO, MGNF, as well as bank branch managers from PNB, CBI, APEX, APRB, SBI and NESFB. This collective effort underscores the commitment towards rural development.
