Rivulis, a company that operates worldwide in the field of micro irrigation and is dedicated to promoting a sustainable agri-food supply chain to address the threat of climate change, has published its 2022 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. This report highlights the company's continued dedication to sustainability and ethical business practices.

Since its establishment, Rivulis has made the conservation of limited water resources, prevention of soil degradation, and enhancement of crop yields for farmers its primary goals. The company has achieved this by optimizing agricultural output per unit of water consumed. However, due to the escalating demand for food resulting from a growing population and the growing unpredictability of weather patterns, Rivulis is now broadening its mission to make micro-irrigation accessible to a wider audience beyond the scope of agricultural input efficiency.

Rivulis has initiated the Climate Program to assist farmers in adopting environmentally friendly farming practices that promote carbon sequestration and minimize greenhouse gas emissions. The company is scaling up its sustainable business approach by launching the Rivulis Climate Program in 2022, which aims to facilitate the global adoption of low-carbon agricultural techniques, including micro-irrigation.

"Our company is committed to making a significant impact in sustainability. We have demonstrated this through our ESG report, which showcases our dedication to promoting the widespread use of micro irrigation, adopting responsible business practices, and building a more sustainable future for everyone," said Richard Klapholz, CEO of Rivulis.

The ESG report offers comprehensive insights into Rivulis' business practices and management, highlighting its dedication to minimizing its carbon footprint, investing in its workforce, and supporting local communities through various social programs.

Rivulis intends to employ renewable energy to operate its manufacturing facilities wherever feasible and has already procured solar panels for its plants located in Greece and Spain, which are scheduled to be installed in the latter half of 2023. In terms of resource circularity, the company plans to launch a cutting-edge recycling plant in California in 2024. By 2025, Rivulis has set an objective to surpass 30% of its total raw material inputs from discarded consumer and industrial materials.

Rivulis has been focused on bolstering its backing for the localities where it conducts its operations on the social front. Furthermore, it aims to make micro-irrigation systems readily available to cultivators by crafting cost-effective and user-friendly solutions. To make these systems more affordable, Rivulis is also devising inventive financing plans via its customer financing wing to cater to the initial investment needed for the installation of micro irrigation systems.

Since this ESG Report covers the period from 2020 to 2022, it portrays the operational activities of Rivulis before its amalgamation with the global business operations of Jain Irrigation.
