Register on E-Vaadagai App and Secure Subsidy on Farm Machinery Now

In a bid to support farmers in Virudhunagar district, authorities have advised them to register on the e-Vaadagai app to avail subsidies while hiring or renting farming machinery.

The Virudhunagar Collector, V.P. Jayaseelan, emphasized the importance of farmers registering and uploading the necessary documents on the app to access the subsidy.

The subsidy program aims to assist small and marginal farmers by providing a subsidy of ₹250 per acre for the rental cost of machinery such as earth movers, bulldozers, tractors, and truck-operated coconut hoists. Each farmer can receive a maximum subsidy of ₹1,250 for up to five acres of land. The subsidy amount will be directly deposited into the farmers' bank accounts.

To facilitate this initiative, the Department of Agricultural Engineering has allocated ₹4.06 lakh towards subsidizing machinery rentals for use on 1,624 acres of farmland. Out of the total funds, ₹3.30 lakh is allocated for general category farmers, while ₹76,000 is specifically designated for farmers from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

The provision of farm machinery subsidies serves as a significant step in addressing the challenge of labor scarcity faced by farmers. By utilizing these machines, farmers can ensure the timely completion of various farming activities, promoting efficiency and productivity.

The e-Vaadagai app provides a convenient platform for farmers to register their subsidy requests and submit the required documentation. By streamlining the process, the app aims to simplify access to subsidies and ensure a smooth and transparent system for farmers in Virudhunagar district.
