Recently Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot submitted a separate agriculture budget. This budget formed the agricultural technology mission and included provisions for equipment purchase subsidies.

The Agricultural Technology Mission aims to increase farm mechanization in Rajasthan. The programme has already assisted over 43,300 farmers in the State.

While this year's Budget provides for a 250 crore subsidy to 1 lakh farmers for the purchase of agricultural equipment, agriculturists have received 91.44 crores in mission mode subsidies over the last four years. The financial assistance has been extremely beneficial for tasks such as ploughing, seed sowing, land irrigation, and crop harvesting.

According to State Agricultural Commissioner Kana Ram, the subsidy, which covers up to 50% of farm equipment costs, will benefit small and marginal farmers while increasing agricultural output and land productivity. Subsidies, according to Mr. Ram, have already been shown to improve farmers' ability to increase their income.

The agri-tech mission calls for subsidies for the procurement of manual, power, tractor, and automatic machinery. Agriculturists from Scheduled Castes and Tribes, as well as women farmers, have been given preference in the programme in addition to small and marginal farmers.

According to Mr. Ram, farmers now have the opportunity to apply for the subsidy through the Raj Kisan Saathi portal using their Jan Aadhaar cards and the required supporting documentation.

50,000 farmers who raise cattle will receive chaff cutter machines at discounted prices thanks to a 35 crore provision included in the agriculture budget. In addition to the drones being made available at the custom hiring centres, 40 crores will be used to provide 1,000 drones to agricultural graduates and unemployed youths.
