Rajasthan Budget 2023-Free Electricity And Many Top Benefits For Farmers

On Friday, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot announced some interesting schemes including free electricity to farmers, no new taxes, Rs 200 crore welfare fund, and more in the State Assembly. Ashok Gehlot announced free electricity to more than 11 lakh farmers consuming less than 2,000 units per month.

The chief minister talked about offering an uninterrupted power supply for farming as a priority for the state government in his Budget speech for 2023-24. Ashok Gehlot said, from the 2023-24 financial year farmers consuming up to 2,000 units per month will get free electricity.

He also announced the agreement of the Rajasthan Farmers Debt Relief Act in order to protect the land of small and marginal farmers from being sold off. It is an Act to provide for the relief of marginal farmers, rural artisans, and agriculturists in the State of Rajasthan from indebtedness.

CM also announced to distribute of free seed kits to 23 lakh farmers, hybrid millet mini kits to 8 lakh farmers, an increase in the budget of the Agriculture Welfare Fund from 500 crores to 7500 crores, and a subsidy of Rs 4-4 lakhs to young farmers to buy 1000 drones have been also mentioned in this budget.

A whopping Rs 750 crores will also be spent on the Chief Minister Kamdhenu Bima Yojana. This scheme will benefit 20 lakh cattle herders. A provision has been made in the budget for the owners of animals killed by the Lumpy virus, under this. Every animal owner will get a compensation of Rs 40,000 per animal for the death of two animals.

“In the state budget 2023-24, no new taxes have been announced. This is the last budget of this government as assembly polls will be held in the state this year. No new taxes were imposed and relief was given to people in the last four budgets too,” Ashok Gehlot, who also holds the finance portfolio, said while presenting the budget in the state Assembly on the theme of 'Bachat, Rahat, Badhat'.
