Punjab Govt. Deploys 7 Teams for Quality Seed and Pesticide Sales

Gurmeet Singh appreciated the AAP govt. for complete dedication toward the welfare of farmers. One team from the flying squad has been assigned to three to four districts to monitor them accordingly. He incited farmers to demand a bill for each purchase from the vendor.

The Punjab Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department has established seven dedicated teams intending to ensure the provision of high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides to farmers. To enhance agricultural practices, the state's Agriculture Minister, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, announced on Sunday that these teams will conduct comprehensive inspections and sampling activities to monitor the quality and pricing of agricultural inputs, including seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, at both retail shops and manufacturing units. 

This proactive approach will ensure that farmers have access to reliable and genuine products necessary for their farming needs. These initiatives demonstrate the government's commitment to supporting farmers and promoting the use of quality inputs in the agricultural sector.

Gurmeet Singh further told that the flying squad team headed by Joint Directors and Chief Agriculture Officers of the department will be closely speculating and inspecting the sale of seeds, pesticides, and fertilizers. By closely monitoring these aspects, the teams aim to ensure transparency and efficiency in the distribution process, safeguarding the interests of farmers and promoting a fair agricultural market.

According to the statement, it was also told that one of the teams from the flying squad has been assigned the task to monitor three to four districts and to make reports accordingly. Additionally, he stated that when farmers purchase their respective produce they must demand a bill from the vendor which ensures the true amount paid, is mentioned in the bill accordingly. This will safeguard farmers from any sort of mishappening. The Agriculture Minister emphasized that in cases where vendors fail to provide bills to farmers, it is essential for farmers to promptly report the issue to the relevant officer. He reassured that strict and decisive actions will be taken to address such incidents.

Khudian reiterated the unwavering dedication of the AAP-led government, led by Bhagwant Mann, to prioritize the well-being and prosperity of farmers. This commitment is evident in the government's proactive measures and initiatives aimed at safeguarding the rights and interests of the farming community.
