Under the central government's renowned income support scheme for farmers, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Union Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar has launched the PM-Kisan Mobile App with Face Authentication Feature. Face Authentication Feature for e-KYC

The PM-Kisan Mobile App introduces a convenient Face Authentication Feature that allows farmers to complete their e-KYC remotely, from the comfort of their homes, without the need for OTP or fingerprint authentication. This technology-driven solution provides ease and efficiency in the verification process, benefiting farmers across the country.

Extension of e-KYC Facility to State Government Officers

Recognizing the significance of e-KYC procedures, the Government of India has extended the ability to perform e-KYC to officers of state governments. Each officer can now complete the e-KYC process for up to 500 farmers, streamlining the verification process and ensuring accessibility for beneficiaries.

Virtual Launch Event and Ministerial Remarks

The launch event held at Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi, witnessed the participation of thousands of farmers, government officials, and representatives from agricultural organizations. Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar commended the comprehensive nature of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and emphasized the role of state governments in its diligent implementation. He highlighted the importance of accurate data for seamless verification processes and expressed confidence in the benefits provided by the scheme.

Utilizing Technology for Farmer Welfare

Minister Shri Tomar emphasized the transformative role of technology in implementing innovative schemes like PM-Kisan. By providing direct benefits to farmers without intermediaries, the scheme has achieved significant milestones. The PM-Kisan Mobile App simplifies the process for farmers, facilitating their access to the scheme's benefits and enhancing transparency.

Impressive Achievements and Future Goals

PM-Kisan has emerged as one of the world's largest Direct Benefit Transfer schemes, transferring Rs 6,000 annually to farmers' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts in three installments. With over 11 crore farmers and more than 3 crore women beneficiaries, the scheme has provided a total transfer of Rs 2.42 lakh crore. Minister Shri Tomar acknowledged the achievements thus far and urged all state governments to expedite their efforts to reach all eligible farmers.

App Features and Expansion Strategies

The PM-Kisan Mobile App, available for download on the Google Play Store, offers essential features such as land seeding status, Aadhaar linkage with bank accounts, and e-KYC through the No User Status Module. To enhance outreach, India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) has been roped in to facilitate the opening of Aadhaar-linked bank accounts for beneficiaries. Additionally, Common Service Centers (CSCs) have been encouraged to organize village-level e-KYC camps in collaboration with States/UTs.
