Patna- Govt. to Bear Expenses as Farmers to Learn Advanced Organic Techniques Abroad

The government has decided to bear expenses of Rs 5 lakh per cultivator for interested farmers who are keen to learn organic farming techniques abroad. Farmers from 13 districts have already been selected and organic farming corridors have been created in these districts.

Recently the state government of Bihar, Patna has decided to send farmers from 13 districts to abroad for gaining more information on organic farming practices.

Agriculture Minister Kumar Sarvjeet told that “farmers who are keen to learn from these 13 districts placed across Ganga will be sent in batches. The state agriculture department will be fully responsible and bear their expenses of Rs 5 lakh per cultivator.”

He also told that an “Organic Farming corridor has already been built for 13 districts in the state which will help them to boost and encourage to perform and adopt organic cultivation in their regions. This activity will be done on a mission mode  and the government will provide proper facilities in relation to organic farming for the interested farmers till 2025.”

"Farmers from these 13 districts were earlier sent to countries like  Vietnam, Thailand, Bhutan, and many more, to help them accommodate with advanced techniques related to organic farming. Their main target is to make farmers more skilled and to give information to their fellow farmers. This will help farmers to learn more and adopt these advanced technologies in relation to organic farming. This will therefore boost the economy and increase and enhance farm productivity,” the minister told.

Minister also added that the “government will take full responsibility for farmers' expenses engaged in learning or study tours abroad. Infact this process has already been initiated and the government has already sanctioned Rs 104 crore effectively for developing the organic farming corridor in the given state.”

20,000 acres across 13 districts have been identified for creating the corridor.
