Now, trucks, tractor-trailers to get retroreflector tapes in Ludhiana

The Ludhiana police road unit has decided to install cassettes in heavy vehicles  such as tipper trucks, tractor trailers, and garbage trucks.

Since unstable and slow-moving vehicles cause a lot of problems on the road, especially in foggy weather, the Ludhiana police unit has decided to install retroreflector tapes on heavy vehicles such as tipper trucks, tractor trailers, and garbage.

Police say paint and reflections on vehicles often fade or disappear, making it difficult for vehicles to see at night. Not surprisingly, according to the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) many details of city traffic accidents are reported in November, December and January as motorists often take the road in low visibility weather. By 2020, 120 of the 388 winter road accidents were reported.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP, traffic) Sandeep Sharma says that as slow-moving road vehicles are jammed in the city, and may be experiencing problems due to poor visibility, the traffic department has decided to attach retroreflector tape to passing road vehicles.

The traffic police have also decided to install reflectors on the roads. Work may begin publicly from Jagraon Bridge to the octroi post office on Ludhiana-Ferozepur Road in a few days. "As the weather changed instantaneously, traffic police advised passengers to be careful when driving in fog and to limit the speed of their vehicles, a campaign had been launched to remove parked vehicles,” the ADCP said.
