New Holland Agriculture Receives CSR Times Award 2023 for Pioneering Sustainable Environment Solutions

New Holland Agriculture, a subsidiary of CNH Industrial, has been awarded the prestigious Gold Award at the 10th National CSR Times Awards 2023 for its pioneering Sustainable Environment Solutions program. This groundbreaking initiative is dedicated to combatting the critical issue of crop stubble burning across 16 locations in India.

The annual CSR Times Awards, held in New Delhi, celebrate outstanding achievements and promote active participation from a diverse range of stakeholders, including Corporates, Corporate Foundations, NGOs, Government and Public Sectors, and Individuals, in projects that leave a positive and lasting impact on society.

The award-winning Sustainable Environment Solutions program has been at the forefront of efforts to combat crop stubble burning by promoting sustainable straw management practices and encouraging the utilization of stubble in various industries, including power plants, to provide an economic return for farmers. This innovative program advocates for the use of rakes and balers for eco-friendly straw management while raising awareness about the detrimental effects of crop residue burning. Between 2017 and 2022, this initiative facilitated the baling of nearly 2 million tons of paddy straw, significantly reducing carbon emissions that would have otherwise resulted from stubble burning.
