The primary investigator, Dr. Ram Gopal Varma, presented a comprehensive report on the progress and accomplishments of the paddy cultivation project using drones, which has received financial backing from NABARD.

A momentous development unfolded on Wednesday as Suseela Chintala, the Chief General Manager of NABARD's Telangana region, Hyderabad,  highlighted the pressing need to embrace advanced agricultural technologies and mechanization in light of the labor shortage plaguing the sector.

Addressing an event held at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), the focus of the conversation revolved around 'Advancements in Drone-Based Services for Rice Cultivation’. She added that NABARD will be at the forefront to support such programs.

Suseela also highlighted the need for thorough educational initiatives, aimed at empowering both farmers and young enthusiasts to adeptly utilize drone technology. In this regard, NABARD expressed a steadfast commitment to back these educational initiatives.

Highlighting the imperative for a unified solution to deliver a wide spectrum of agricultural services via drones, Suseela Chintala emphasized that the seamless integration of modern technology could serve as a potent catalyst for drawing the younger generation towards agriculture.

Dr M Venkataramana, Registrar of the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), said that with the use of drones, crops can be planted in a larger area in a short time and the cost of cultivation will also be reduced. He illuminated the remarkable benefits of drones, enabling the rapid planting of crops over expansive agricultural landscapes while concurrently trimming cultivation costs. This shift promises to be a game-changer in the agricultural domain.

Dr Ram Gopal Varma, project investigator, explained the progress. He presented a comprehensive overview of the progress made in the drone-assisted paddy cultivation project, made feasible through NABARD's financial backing. He said that best practices for employing drones in agriculture, lead to heightened productivity and sustainability.

Chintala emphasized the idea of using drones to create a one-stop hub for farming services, making modern technology appealing to young people and encouraging their involvement in agriculture.
