Speaking at the event the minister congratulated the officials and staff of the Department of Agriculture for their efforts to make this dream a reality for state farmers. He added that it was a transformation of the Meghalaya province and the Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, and a step forward in making Meghalaya an organic state.
"At the moment, meeting the expectations of state farmers is an important issue, and the bio-fertilizer production unit is the beginning of a small step to close the gap between supply and demand," the minister added.

He also encouraged young people and entrepreneurs to seize the opportunity and work with government to establish such units across the country.
KN Kumar, chairman of the Meghalaya Farmers' Empowerment Commission, said the first bio-fertilizer production unit of this type was established by the public sector unit in the entire northeastern region.
"In Meghalaya, the annual fertilizer requirement is 22,000 metric tons, and the current production in the province is 150 metric tons per year," he said, expressing hope that more production units could be established in the coming years. , with the involvement of private companies (entrepreneurs), in order to meet the ever-increasing demand of government.
