Microsoft is collaborating with Israeli startups that specialize in the development of pesticide and irrigation technology, to address global food shortages.

Through its extensive network of contacts, the technology giant intends to facilitate the startups' search for new markets and opportunities for collaboration.

More than 40 startups from Israel were selected for potential partnerships, with the first two, Projini and Saturas, already engaged in collaboration with Microsoft.

Projini employs AI technologies typically utilized in the pharmaceutical industry to develop herbicides, while Saturas has created a sensor that is implanted in trees, vines, and plants to gauge the water status of crops.

The Start-Up Nation Central (SNC) is spearheading the partnership program to promote Israeli innovators to address global challenges. As a non-profit organization, SNC is dedicated to this cause. Additionally, Microsoft intends to investigate the potential incorporation of Israeli solutions into its agriculture-based cloud tools.
