'Meri Policy Mere Haath' - Rajasthan Government to Compensate Farmers for Crop Damage
The farmers have to face losses due to natural like heavy rains, and hailstorms. The Rajasthan government is all ready to compensate the farmers for crop damage under its scheme.
On Saturday, Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria said that the state government is all ready to compensate the farmers for crop damage.
According to a press release, “Kataria inaugurated the state-level program of 'Meri Policy Mere Haath' campaign by offering Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana policies to farmers in Gram Panchayat Kalkh, Jobner, Jaipur.
The farmers have to face losses due to natural like heavy rains, and hailstorms. The Crop insurance scheme aims to be better for offering relief to the farmers from such calamities, Kataria said.
He said that Rajasthan farmers have the potential to make Rajasthan a leader in the agriculture sector.
He added,” It is the state government's venture to take agriculture to a new height so that the farmers of the state keep moving forward on the path of success and welfare by adopting the latest technology in agriculture.”
The press release stated,” The agriculture minister said that in the last four years, insurance claims worth Rs 18,500 crore have been provided to about 1.90 crore crop insurance holders.
The Minister said, Previously the farmers used to face many problems in getting insurance claims for crops because of the availability of a 'hardcopy' of the insurance policy on time. For the solution to these problems, the policies are being distributed by the Rajasthan government by organizing camps in the villages.
Agriculture Commissioner Kanaram said Rajasthan is the third state in the country to integrate the land records of about 46,400 villages of the state with the crop insurance portal.
From February 18 to March 10, insurance policies will be provided to farmers by organizing camps at all gram panchayats of the state under the 'Meri Policy Mere Haath' campaign.
