Scorching Heatwave Alert: Delhi Braces for 44°C Temperature as IMD Predicts

Delhi touches a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius. Alerts on Heatwaves to several states have been issued. National Disaster Management issued advisory guidelines to prevent excess heatwaves.

Today in Delhi the minimum temperature hovers around 35 degrees Celsius. The mercury is expected to increase the bar with a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius throughout the day. The wind will tend to move at 355 degrees accompanied by a wind speed of 9.14. Approx 12.77 gust speed is expected to circulate.

Delhi sees frequent heatwaves after temperature soared above 44  degrees Celsius. According to the Indian Meteorological Department strong surface winds with wind speed of  20 – 30 Kmph is expected to hit the city. Due to the scorching heat, many people across Delhi are facing heatstrokes and nausea. People to soon get relief from Wednesday onwards on the oncoming monsoons.

As per the seven-day weather forecast, Delhi is likely to reach 44 degrees Celsius even as the weather office has forecast light rain on a later day. IMD predicts thunderstorms and showers in Delhi for the next three days from May 24-26. On Thursday and Friday, the forecast in Delhi is expected to drop another four to five degrees to approx of 28 degrees Celsius.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Najafgarh records the highest at 46.3 degree Celsius as heatwaves continue to prevail in parts of Northwest India. The weather office has issued a heat wave warning, especially for Delhi NCR and the adjacent areas for Today.

Heatwave alert has been given in seven states. According to The National Disaster Management Authority guidelines, advisory issues to stay indoors, to battle heat people to hydrate and drink ample amounts of water. Wear lightweight, loose, and porous cotton clothes. During outside visits, people use umbrellas, and damp clothes on the head, face, limbs, and neck to keep a balance in body temperature.
