During a 'loan mela' held in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday, 46 farm machines were delivered to East Siang district farmer-beneficiaries under the Atmanirbhar Krishi Yojana and the Atmanirbhar Bhagwani Yojana.
The agriculture department issued six tractors and 12 power tillers under the Sub-Mission Agriculture Mechanisation and three power tillers under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture, in addition to the benefits under the two programs.
Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Tage Taki, who launched the loan mela virtually from Itanagar, said the state government is dedicated to making farmers self-reliant through the two initiatives.
The minister advised farmers to "make the most use of the tractors, power tillers, and other farm machinery they acquired through the credit-linked subsidy scheme," emphasizing the importance of farm mechanization in doubling farmers' income.
"Priority has been given by allocating Rs 100 crores each for departments of agriculture and horticulture under the Atmanirbhar Yojana, so that more farmers of the state can avail farm types of machinery and other garden schemes,Taki said", noting that East Siang has immense potential in the agriculture-horticulture and allied sectors.
