According to Agriculture Minister Kumar Sarvjeet, the state government is planning to create employment opportunities for around 9,000 individuals in various roles within the agriculture sector. 

The modalities and procedures to provide these jobs to students in different branches of agriculture are currently being developed by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The government is also working on the requirements for the vacancies, such as the competitive examination process, eligibility criteria, syllabus, and other procedures to ensure the positions are filled. All these procedures will be sent to the Bihar Public Service Commission.

On Tuesday evening, the agriculture minister addressed a gathering at Bhagalpur after attending the convocation ceremony of Bihar Agricultural University (BAU). 

During the event, Sarvjeet handed over appointment letters on compassionate grounds to 14 relatives of deceased BAU employees. Among them, one was in the 3rd grade, and the others were in the 4th grade.

Before the convocation ceremony, the agriculture minister held a separate meeting to discuss local issues in Bhagalpur. He was welcomed by Chandrashekhar Prasad Yadav, the district president of RJD, Dr. Chakrapani Himanshu, the chairperson of Bihar State Child Labour Commission, and other officials.

The minister announced the establishment of a new college focused on "Forestry and Agri-Business" at BAU. 

The minister elaborated on the state government's plan to achieve the goals outlined in the Krishi Road Map by investing in efforts to combat climate change in Bihar, to improve agricultural productivity.

The minister emphasized the need for researchers and scientists to create affordable agriculture practices and technologies that can lead to socio-economic development. He specifically mentioned the state government's 'Jal Jeevan Hariyali Mission,' which aims to improve agricultural practices while promoting climate resilience and maintaining a pollution-free environment.

Moreover, various leaders from RJD and JD(U) met with the agriculture minister to discuss local issues related to farming, including the challenges faced by farmers.
