To support farmers, the Jharkhand government has introduced the Jharkhand Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana, aiming to alleviate the loan stress on short-term loan-holding farmers in the state. Launched on February 1, 2021, this scheme seeks to provide relief by waiving loans up to Rs. 50,000 per farmer. Providing Relief to Farmers

The primary goal of the Jharkhand Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana is to offer respite to farmers grappling with loan repayment challenges. Short-term loan-holding farmers across Jharkhand will benefit from this initiative, which aims to enhance their eligibility for crop loans, secure new crop loans, curb farmer migration, and fortify the agricultural economy.

Key Features of the Scheme

Under the scheme, the state government has implemented several key features to ensure a smooth and efficient process for farmers:

Online Implementation:

The scheme operates through a dedicated web portal, facilitating a streamlined and contact-minimized process.

Documentation:

Banks upload details of standard Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans, including Aadhaar Card and Ration Card information, on the loan waiver portal.

Loan Waiver Criteria:

Standard crop loans taken until March 31, 2020, will be eligible for benefits. The outstanding amount up to Rs 50,000 in 'Standard Crop Loan' accounts as of March 31, 2020, will be waived off.

Online Application:

The application process is online, ensuring a paperless and hassle-free experience for farmers. Common Service Centres (CSC) and banks facilitate the application process to provide accessibility to applicants.

Digital Disbursement:

Loan repayment will be conducted through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), streamlining the disbursement process.

Grievance Resolution:

Online platforms will be utilized to resolve any grievances raised by applicants, ensuring a responsive and efficient grievance redressal mechanism.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail the benefits of the Jharkhand Krishi Rin Mafi Yojana, farmers must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Residency:

Applicants must be permanent residents of Jharkhand.

Loan Category:

Small and marginal farmers who have taken loans using the Kisan Credit Card are eligible.

Cultivation:

Farmers must be either self-cultivators or individuals cultivating on leased land.

Age Requirement:

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Family Limit:

Only one farmer per family is allowed for a loan waiver.

Loan Date:

Loans must have been availed from banks before March 31, 2020.
