Jammu and Kashmir Launches 'Aalav' Programme to Empower Farmers & Foster Agricultural Development
The 'Aalav' programme and the comprehensive training provided to officers demonstrate the government's commitment to uplifting farmers and promoting agricultural growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo, flagged off the 'Aalav' awareness van from the Lal Chowk area in Jammu and Kashmir, marking the commencement of the ambitious programme aimed at empowering farmers and ensuring their progress and prosperity. The initiative is part of the Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) in the region.
The 'Aalav' programme, which received enthusiastic participation from progressive farmers and heads of departments of agriculture and allied sectors, aims to create a comprehensive support system for farmers in Jammu and Kashmir. At the flag-off ceremony, Dulloo highlighted the three essential dimensions of the HADP: economic development, social inclusion, and environmental protection. He emphasised that the 'Aalav' initiative would prioritise these characteristics to secure the region's farmers' success and prosperity.
Dulloo expressed that the 'Aalav' programme is a significant step towards the holistic development of agriculture in the region, promoting sustainable practices, and equipping farmers with the necessary knowledge and resources to thrive. He emphasized the government's commitment to the welfare and progress of farmers, acknowledging their crucial role in the growth of the agricultural sector.
The Aalav Programme, a key component of the HADP, focuses on providing farmers with access to training, resources, and information necessary for sustainable and profitable agriculture. By empowering farmers and enabling them to adapt to new challenges and explore new possibilities in agriculture, the programme aims to foster their success.
The Aalav program's inaugural event was followed by the successful completion of the UT-level training and orientation course for officers. This program aimed to equip officers with the knowledge and skills required to effectively implement the 29 projects under the HADP. With 400 resource persons trained throughout all districts, these individuals will act as a link between the government and the farming community, guiding and assisting farmers in the implementation of various initiatives and accessing available resources.

The 'Aalav' programme and the comprehensive training provided to officers demonstrate the government's commitment to uplifting farmers and promoting agricultural growth in Jammu and Kashmir. By empowering farmers, the initiative aims to enhance their livelihoods and contribute to the overall development of the agricultural sector in the region.
