Israeli Firms Autonomous Tractors: A Huge Innovation Boost For Farmers

Blue White Robotics originated as a platform that integrates different autonomous systems (both air and ground-based) to real-world applications, founded in 2017 by Ben Alfi, Yair Shahar, and Aviram Shmueli, a group of Israeli Air Force veterans. Using robots and autonomous solutions, the platform is meant to collect data, deliver actionable insights, and increase efficiency and safety for major operations in the sectors of urban transportation, first response, and agriculture.

Israeli firms have always been at the forefront of innovations in all fields. In the field of medicine, they were the first ones to discover pressure bandage’s in the field of optics they were the first ones to give the world its smallest camera’s and the list goes on and on now in the field of agricultural technology An Israeli firm called Blue White Robotics is actually making waves in the industry by making affordable autonomous tractors which can be used in multiple ways in the farm to help in agricultural production.

By refitting existing infrastructure with sophisticated autonomous algorithms through its robot tractors, Blue White Robotics hopes to offer a "cohesive experience" throughout farming activities all year-round, from spraying and harvesting to disking (Disking disturbs the ground surface and vegetation to prevent an area from going through succession to a woody condition and stimulates establishment of annual plants that provide wildlife food and cover) and sowing. Farm productivity, accuracy, and worker safety are all improved by the robot tractors.

The Blue-White Robotics platform collects and distributes data to generate new services that help the increasing autonomous operation enhance yields and minimize inputs.

Lastly according to blue-white robotics US General Manager & VP Alon Ascher blue robotics like to,“ Encourage new talent to come back to farming, because all of a sudden there is a position in the company for a robotic fleet manager or robotic operator. Ben, the CEO, likes to call it making agriculture sexy again. All these guys that are now running from agriculture to work in high-tech companies — now they have a reason to come back, to maybe continue the family business and continue the tradition. But it’s in a 21st century way.”
