Indian Farmers Keen On Drone Usage

The usage of technology is one way to ensure that the farm output increases. Utilizing the mechanized counterparts of human labor will ensure that farm efficiency is increased. Indian farms are gradually witnessing an increase in the use of technology in the farms. The use of farm machinery is being taken to the next level with the awaiting of 'Kisan Drones' which are mechanized drones that help in spraying insecticides and pesticides to the already growing crops. This will reduce the burden on farmers who may not be able to buy the expensive and hi-tech equipment but will definitely be able to use it on rent.

Moreover, the farms witness a loss of labor immediately after sowing seasons as the laborers begin migrating to urban areas in and around that period of time. Thus, the crucial period of growth often witnesses a reduction in labor and the usage of drones will ensure that the crops get the necessary inputs during this phase. Moreover, this can also be very effective in tea gardens. India's sprawling tea estates; reminiscent of the colonial era- are often plagued by a lack of staff. And they face high levels of absenteeism among the existing employees. The use of drones can definitely be helpful in such areas where labor is deficient as well.

The usage of drones will also promote uniformity in the distribution of crop nutrients. And moreover, in a world that is quickly depleting its' water resources, the usage of drones will also help save water.
