With the expansion of the home delivery service to various regions in Karnataka, mango lovers across the state can conveniently savour their favourite varieties without compromising on the quality and authenticity of the fruit.

The decline in mango yield this summer has posed challenges for the home delivery of mangoes initiative in India. However, India Post, in collaboration with the Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation Ltd. (KSMDMCL), has managed to deliver 19 tonnes of mangoes this season in Bengaluru. Officials have hailed this as a commendable achievement considering the reduced yield this year.

This home delivery initiative ensures that mango enthusiasts can enjoy the flavours of the fruit while adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety. Despite the challenges posed by the reduced mango yield, the successful delivery of 19 tonnes of mangoes exemplifies the commitment of India Post and KSMDMCL to provide accessible and premium mangoes to consumers.

Under the initiative called 'Karsiri,' which was initially launched during the lockdown in 2020, the Department of Posts successfully delivered 75 tonnes of mangoes throughout the season in 2021 and 70 tonnes in 2022. Despite the low mango yield this year, the department has been able to provide home delivery services for 19 tonnes of mangoes from April 5 to May 12.

A senior official from KSMDMCL stated, "Home delivery of mangoes is now available in 31 PIN codes across various parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad, Mysuru, Belagavi, Mangaluru, Hassan, Mandya, and other areas of the state."
