Farmers and harvesters are currently racing against the clock to harvest 13 different types of wheat that were planted on a 50-acre plot of land located in the buffer zone between the three-tier fencing and the zero-line on the International Border in Chakrohi, Jammu and Kashmir. This area was previously prohibited from access due to frequent shelling from Pakistan, but it has now become accessible as of a year ago.

According to a statement by Farm Manager Dr. Rakesh Khanjuria, the wheat crops in these farmlands were planted after India and Pakistan agreed on a ceasefire in 2021. The harvesting process is currently underway and progressing rapidly, with approximately 70 percent of the farmland having been harvested thus far. This marks the first time that crops have been cultivated on these farmlands.
