The seed mela will witness active participation from various agriculture departments and ICAR Research units located in Hyderabad. Experts from these institutions will be present to educate visiting farmers about the diverse seed varieties showcased at the event. Additionally, a farmer-scientist interaction program is planned to keep farmers updated on the latest technologies emerging in the field of agriculture.
In collaboration with the renowned Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticulture University (SKLTSHU), PJTSAU will showcase popular varieties of different crops, including vegetables, fruits, flowers, and medicinal plants. The Seed Mela is designed to offer farmers the chance to purchase these seeds at affordable rates, further supporting their agricultural practices.
The Seed Mela promises to be an excellent opportunity for farmers and the public alike to obtain the best seeds for their agricultural needs. By facilitating access to these high-yielding varieties, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University aims to contribute to the growth and prosperity of the farming community in the state.
Dr. Venkat Ramana, the Director of Research at PJTSAU, revealed that approximately 15,000 quintals of seeds encompassing 45 varieties of 10 different crops will be available for sale at the Seed Mela.
