Haryana State Cooperative Supply Federation Initiates Maize Procurement Across 19 Mandis Till Nov 15

The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (Hafed) has commenced the procurement of maize, taking a proactive step to support local farmers. The state government has set up 19 mandis/procurement centers across 11 districts to facilitate the procurement process.

Hafed, being the largest procurement agency in the state, is spearheading the initiative and has issued instructions to farmers, urging those who haven't sold their maize crops yet to bring them to the designated mandis/procurement centers by November 15. The cooperative federation is committed to ensuring fair transactions and has aligned its procurement with the minimum support price (MSP) based on the fair average quality (FAQ) specifications outlined by the Centre.

Highlighting the importance of this initiative, a spokesperson from Hafed stated, "We have already issued necessary instructions for the procurement of maize at the minimum support price (MSP) in line with the fair average quality (FAQ) specifications of the Centre."

The state government has strategically established mandis/procurement centers in key locations, including Ambala City, Naraingarh, Mullana, Shahjadpur, Fatehabad, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Ladwa, Pehowa, Shahabad, Bawani, Panchkula, Barwala, Raipur Rani, Panipat, Kharkhoda, Jagadhri, and Sirsa, to streamline the maize procurement process.
