Haryana Farmers Will Receive 50% Subsidy On New Tractors

The Haryana government has decided to provide subsidies for the purchase of tractors to the state's scheduled caste farmers. According to media reports, the Agriculture Department of Haryana will provide a 50 percent subsidy, up to Rs. 3 lakhs, to special category farmers in the state for the purchase of tractors. Farmers have been asked to submit applications for the same. Interested farmers can apply on the Saral Portal until January 10, 2023.

The Haryana government is subsidizing the purchase of a new tractor for scheduled caste farmers through the SB 89 scheme. Farmers can get tractors for half the price under this programme. The scheme is only available to scheduled caste farmers and their groups.
The main goal of this scheme is to provide tractors to economically disadvantaged farmers and scheduled caste groups so that they can benefit from and do farming work more easily.

The Haryana government is providing a subsidy to scheduled caste farmers and groups for the purchase of new tractors with more than 35 horsepower. In this case, the farmer can purchase a tractor from a state-approved company. On his initiative, the farmer can purchase a tractor from any of the companies notified by the department.

The farmer chosen for the scheme will first need to purchase a tractor. Following that, the tractor purchase receipt must be submitted to the department, and the farmer will be paid the tractor subsidy amount.

Eligibility for the subsidy scheme

Farmers and groups belonging to the state's scheduled castes are the only ones who can benefit from this scheme. This scheme will only benefit scheduled caste farmers and groups who have registered on the “Meri Fasal, Mera Byora” portal.

The farmer who applies for this scheme must be a Haryana permanent resident. The farmer applying for subsidies must be over the age of 18.
The benefit of this scheme will be given to farmers who have not received a tractor subsidy under any government scheme in the previous seven years. Following the application in the scheme, the farmer will be required to purchase a tractor from a company authorized by the department within 15 days of being selected.

The farmer must present the tractor purchase receipt to the Agriculture Department's office. Farmers will be unable to sell their subsidized tractors for five years. The farmer will need to submit an affidavit for this.

If a farmer sells the subsidized tractor before five years, the farmer must return the subsidy amount plus interest to the department.
