Govt. Of West Bengal Distributes Rs 2,602 Crore to 94 lakh Farm Beneficiaries

West Bengal Govt. releases Rs 2,602 crores to 94 lac beneficiary farmers. Under Krishi Bandu (natun) scheme the amount has increased to Rs 10,000 for cultivable land of one acre. Also, CHC has increased to 2,098 at block levels which is a major boost for farm mechanization.

Recently the West Bengal Government has released financial assistance to 94 lakh beneficiary farmers and bargadars. A cash aid package of Rs 2,602 crores has been released.

Almost 1.50 lac farmers have benefitted from the 6th edition of Duare Sarkar on April 2023.  On 26 April, the state government got their approval for the construction of 61 new Custom Hiring Centres (CHC) with a value of  Rs. 9.20 crore.

According to reports, CHC has increased to 2,098 at block levels. This has been a major success and would augment farm mechanization under initiatives of state level. Under the Bangla Krishi Seech Yojana which included drip and sprinklers, financial aid has been sanctioned to 9,228 farmers. Only those farmers are eligible who had applied earlier during the 6th edition of Duare Sarkar. The total fund of Rs 23 crore has been included.

In 2018–19, the Krishak Bandhu initiative was launched. During that period sharecroppers and enrolled farmers received a minimum value of Rs 2,000 per year and up to Rs 5,000 for cultivable lands for at least one acre, with a total of 39 lakh farmers enrolling with the state agriculture department.

According to Krishi Bandu (natun) scheme, the amount has increased to Rs 10,000 for cultivable land of one acre. Also, the minimum amount of Rs 4,000 to be paid annually, a comparable amount in two equal installments for land areas less than one acre is been issued.

Under Krishi Bandu (natun) scheme, through 6 rounds of Duare Sarkar, more than 39 lac new farmers have been registered. Rs 15,112 crore has been dispensed directly to the registered farmers which also included bargadars, in the year 2019.
