Krishi 24/7 is a pioneering innovation that fills a crucial gap by efficiently identifying and managing agricultural news articles to facilitate timely and informed decision-making in the agricultural domain. This transformative tool has the capability to scan news articles in multiple languages and translate them into English. It extracts vital information from these articles, including headlines, crop names, event types, dates, locations, severity, summaries, and source links, providing the DA&FW with real-time updates on relevant events published on the web.
In the launch event, Secretary (A&FW), Shri Manoj Ahuja, emphasized that this news monitoring system would not only keep stakeholders informed but empower them to influence the narrative. He stressed the importance of continuous improvement and encouraged ongoing enhancements to ensure the system's adaptability to the evolving landscape of information. Secretary Ahuja called for collaborative efforts to make this news monitoring system a dynamic force and a valuable asset in the mission to better serve farmers.
Joint Secretary (Extension), Shri Samuel Praveen Kumar, provided an overview of the solution's functions, highlighting its capacity to offer near real-time monitoring of news articles in the agricultural ecosystem published online. This feature will enable the DA&FW to identify news of interest and establish a comprehensive mechanism for shortlisting events, generating alerts, and taking timely actions.
