Govt. Has Provided Rs 10,000 Cr Aid To Farmers In The Last 5 Years

Govt. has provided financial aid of Rs 10,000 Crore to the farmers in the last 5 years. Govt is trying to support farmers who have suffered crop loss due to unseasonal rainfall, water scarcity.

The occurrence of unseasonal rainfall and gusty winds have severely impacted crop yields and farmers' income. Recently Government of Gujarat has stated that financial aid of Rs 10,000 crore has been provided to farmers in those states severely affected by crop loss, in the past 5 years.

State Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel said that the government has provided financial aid in many parts to several farmers facing inevitable crop loss. During these last five years, a fund of Rs 10,000 crore has been aided by 86 Lac farmers across the country. In 2018-19, Rs 1670 crore was provided for crop loss due to water scarcity in 96 talukas. 

The government is showing its immense support to the farmers who have faced problems of crop loss. In the next year around Rs 2,400 crore was facilitated to farmers for torrent and unseasonal rainfall.

In the year 2020-21, Rs 2900 crore was provided in 21 districts. Also, Rs 409 crore was aided in 2021-22 in May due to the cyclone. Additionally, Rs 500 crore was given in September 2021.

He also added many regions have received more than 10 mm of unseasonal rainfall. Around 16 districts recorded unseasonal rainfall.

Crops like cotton, castor, wheat, tobacco, rice, potato, chana, groundnut,isabgol, and bajra have been severely affected, added the minister. Current surveys are going and the government is fully supporting the farmers as much as they can.
