Govt Expands eNAM with 28 New Wholesale Mandis, Enhance Agricultural Trade Opportunities
On Tuesday, Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja announced plans to expand the e-NAM online trading platform by incorporating 28 additional wholesale mandis, bringing the nationwide total to 1,389.
Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja revealed on Tuesday that the government's commitment to strengthening the electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) includes the integration of 28 new wholesale mandis, bringing the national total to 1,389.
As of now, the e-NAM platform has successfully linked 1,361 regulated mandis spanning 23 states and four Union Territories. Launched on April 26, this digital marketplace has become a crucial hub for agricultural trade.
Ahuja stressed the critical role of timely information sharing among the diverse stakeholders engaged with e-NAM. He emphasized that, just as sellers closely monitor commodity prices, buyers equally depend on comprehensive data regarding the quality of agricultural produce. This transparent exchange of information not only provides trust but also enhances efficiency within the agricultural value chain.
