Garuda Aerospace Collaborates With Ninjacart To Offer Drone Financing Options To Farmers
Through a strategic alliance, both companies will provide farmers with short-term financing options, allowing them to access cutting-edge drone technology at affordable prices.
On Thursday, March 9, Garuda Aerospace, one of the leading homegrown manufacturers of drones for the Agritech sector, and Ninjacart, an Agritech e-commerce startup backed by Flipkart, announced a strategic partnership. This collaboration aims to make drone technology available to farmers across India.
Through a strategic alliance, both companies will provide farmers with short-term financing options, allowing them to access cutting-edge drone technology at affordable prices. Drone use in farmlands can help farmers not only improve crop yields but also reduce input costs and increase farm-level efficiency. Soil analysis, water management, and precision agriculture are some of the other applications of drone technology in agriculture.
Furthermore, the partnership claims to provide farmers with training to operate drones and other business opportunities, allowing them to "earn 50,000 to 1 lakh rupees per month."
Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, commented on the collaboration, "This collaboration will not only assist farmers in increasing yields and lowering costs, but it will also provide young entrepreneurs with skills and business opportunities. We believe that this collaboration will contribute to the development of a long-term impact on India's agricultural sector."
"Our partnership with Garuda Aerospace will bring the latest drone technology to farmers and help them increase their yields and reduce costs. Drones in agriculture will also aid in soil analysis, water management, and precision agriculture, according to Ninjacart CEO and Co-Founder Kartheeswaran KK.
Garuda Aerospace currently operates 400 'made-in-India' drones and employs over 500 pilots across 84 Indian cities. Meanwhile, Ninjacart works with over one lakh farmers in 150 villages to help them increase their yield and income. Flipkart and Walmart have invested $175 million in Ninjacart since 2020, even as it transitioned from a B2C to a B2B model.
