Garuda Aerospace, A Drone Startup, "First To Obtain Agri Drone Subsidies"
Garuda Aerospace has stated that its DGCA-approved Garuda Kisan Drones have the potential to revolutionize the way farmers manage and monitor the health of their crops.
Garuda Aerospace, a startup specializing in drones, has recently become the first company to receive the Agri Drone Subsidy from the Indian government. This subsidy aims to encourage the use of agricultural drones in the country. During an event held in Pune, 'Garuda Kisan Drones' were distributed to eight farmers who qualified for the subsidy. The event was attended by drone distributors from across Maharashtra, according to the drone company.
Garuda Aerospace has stated that its DGCA-approved Garuda Kisan Drones have the potential to revolutionize the way farmers manage and monitor the health of their crops. These drones can efficiently identify and locate areas that require water or fertilizer, reducing the need for manual labor.
Additionally, they can spray pesticides and fertilizers, increasing productivity while cutting down on labor costs. With the help of this subsidy, Garuda Aerospace intends to expand its operations and make Garuda Kisan Drones more accessible to farmers across India. This will not only simplify and streamline farmers' jobs but also help enhance agricultural productivity and minimize food waste.
Garuda Aerospace, in collaboration with various agricultural institutions in India such as the Northern Region Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute (FMTTI), ICAR institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and state agricultural universities (SAUs), has successfully assisted farmers in receiving a full grant-in-aid for the purchase of agricultural drones and attachments under the Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) program initiated by the Indian Government.
This financial aid has allowed these institutions to utilize Garuda Kisan Drones to conduct demonstrations on the fields of small-scale farmers, with a maximum grant amount of Rs 10 lakhs. In addition, farmer-producer organizations (FPOs) received a 75% grant-in-aid to purchase agricultural drones and attachments to conduct demonstrations on the fields of farmers.
The main objective of this initiative is to promote the use of agricultural drones in India and aid small-scale farmers to improve their crop yields and reduce their costs. The government encourages the adoption of this technology, which has proven to be beneficial for the agriculture sector.
Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, expressed his excitement about the recent subsidy their company received for their agricultural drones. He stated that their drones have already made a significant impact in the agriculture industry and this subsidy will allow them to expand their reach to more farmers across India. Although the use of drones in agriculture is still in its early stages in India, their vision is to revolutionize and promote the utilization of drone technology in the agriculture sector.
The Director of Maharashtra State Agriculture Department, Vishnu Salve, expressed his congratulations to Garuda Aerospace for being the first drone company to receive the Agri Drone Subsidy. The company has helped eight farmers by providing them with DGCA-approved Type Certified Garuda Kisan Drones. The innovative technologies and solutions offered by Garuda Aerospace have significantly assisted and benefitted numerous farmers across Maharashtra and the country. The company's dedication to improving crop yield, reducing crop damage, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices has had a positive impact on the entire farming community.
Garuda Aerospace views the Agri Drone Subsidy as a major milestone for both their company and the drone industry in general. With the assistance of the government, Garuda Aerospace could greatly influence the agricultural sector and aid in India's emergence as a leader in drone technology. The drone startup is enthusiastic about its ongoing efforts to push agricultural innovation forward and provide farmers with advanced technological solutions.
