Prof. Prabhu emphasized the importance of aligning education with technology. He argued that the traditional curriculum must change and that the modern curriculum must be more in line with reality.
Prof. Suresh Prabhu, Founding Chancellor of Rishihood University, Guest Professor of the London School of Economics, and former Union Minister highlighted the vast potential of Artificial Intelligence in various fields of life, and how India can lead in this domain, at the 17th India Digital Summit (IDS 2023).
Prof. Prabhu emphasized the importance of aligning education with technology in this regard. He argued that the traditional curriculum must change and that the modern curriculum must be more in line with reality. He discussed how education could aid in the development of AI.
Prof. Prabhu stated, "We have applications for AI everywhere—for example, agriculture," when discussing the broad benefits of AI. We can use AI to determine where to grow a crop and how and when to use water. AI could be used to increase the value of soil. It has the potential to shape the entire value chain."
"AI has the potential to be used in natural resource management. It has the potential to have a significant positive impact on climate change," he added.
Prof. Prabhu believed that India, with its 'incredible intelligence' talent pool, had great potential for technological use. But at the same time, he stressed the need for the ethical use of technology, 'so that no monsters are created in the name of technology'.
